Now, look beyond the 4th Grade Photoshop 'mixtape' cover... even ignore that the track listing is nearly a complete rip-off of some Twitter posts Wale leaked of his own old shit. Take a look at the top of that cover, can you make out that writing across the top? It reads "N.Buck presents Hip Hop 101". Yeeeaah, about that... do your homework dude.
Anybody who's been around the town for a while knows that Hip Hop 101 was the weekly Seattle Rap Show produced for years on public access. Dev From Above (then Dirty Dev) was the host with the most and the Mad Krew posse kept the show running smooth. When Kitty Wu came with Cool Out experience and elevated the project, it just kept the show running smoother. It was a huge part of Seattle's Hip Hop history.
Game tips/Walk through: Training mode. Seriously, dude... don't go around trying to 'teach people' some shit, when you yourself need to learn a couple of things. Welcome to 206 101, boss. This may not be as epic as BBNR's treading on the Rocksteady Crew, but it holds the same tone. Change the fuckin' name, kid.
1st, on the note of the playlist, I make note of the fact that the tracks are from Wale's twitter off the bat if you read the article. I make no claims otherwise, I just note that some of the tracks were previously unreleased/on other artists' projects. The only claim I make is that I've conveniently placed them all into one playlist so you don't have to spend time dl'ing each track individually.
ReplyDeleteI'm not trying to release new exclusive music. I'm not 2dopeboyz, I don't have the reputation to do that. I'm just trying to share the music I enjoy with the world and maybe shine light on some artists people have overlooked (the site is mostly for me and my friends).
2nd, the name of my site, Hip Hop 101 doesn't derive from anything other than an e-mail chain that I had with my friends before transitioning into a site format. It's not a unique name to my site (if you google "Hip Hop 101," millions of results come up), nor is unique to the Seattle site you mentioned (which I will admit, I did not know existed), but why should I change the name for someone like you who would simply find another reason to hate on the site.
As far as your attitude, I don't see who put you on your high throne that grants you the ability to look down on us mere mortals, but I'm willing to bet that if you took a second to read some of my posts, you'd find some music you haven't heard before that you genuinely like.
You've turned something that was supposed to be a celebration of an amazing album, into a petty fued just because you don't like the name. So take a look at yourself before you start attacking me. What gives you the right to judge everyone else?
Just my thoughts.
Sorry I shit in your cereal.
ReplyDeleteawwww. aren't you precious for even mentioning lil 'ole me.
ReplyDeletethe team was killin' em. SCAN wants us back on the air. should we???
A Hip-Hop 101 return would BE NICE right about now, Kitty!!!
